About this simulation

A 30-minute newsvendor at the State Fair of Texas. For ten nights you run a family stand at Fair Park, Dallas, and set two numbers before demand is known: how many briskets to smoke (a low-margin item that should sell out on most days) and how many batches of lemonade to squeeze (a high-margin item that should almost never run dry).

On Day 6 the Fair offers new terms: its standard 25% share of sales, a flat daily fee, or a buyback of leftover brisket. Scored on decision quality, not luck, and closed by a mirror that measures your own pull-to-center bias and demand chasing.

Who it is for

An intermediate simulation for participants who already know the core concepts of the subject, designed for master's and MBA programmes.

How a session runs

  1. The instructor creates a session from the Eureka dashboard and invites the participants.
  2. Participants play 10 rounds. In each one they submit their decisions and the simulation calculates the results.
  3. The simulation can be run in English, Español.
  4. The instructor follows each participant's progress and results from the dashboard, and uses the class results for the debrief.
