Yazmin, a fictional founder back in her village in the south of Yucatan, Mexico, turns her family's honey into a jarred brand sold to customers 150 and 1,300 kilometres away, with the village's beekeepers as suppliers; her fictional programme asks every quarter what she sold, what was left for her, the cash in the business, how many beekeepers sell her their honey and how exposed the business is.
Round by round you choose where the year's honey comes from and with what money you pay for the harvest, where you sell and what the jar carries, how much honey you keep until the next harvest and how you work with the village, and how you sell Christmas and secure next year's honey.
Each quarter is scored on income, sales, allied beekeepers, risk and cash; calling the honey organic without certification, or stretching it with syrup, caps the score. Spanish with English.
