A grain cooperative in El Bajio, Mexico, takes precision agriculture to 1,560 members who farm maize on 21,600 hectares: 60 large irrigated farms, 300 medium farms and 1,200 small rain-fed plots, each group with 7,200 hectares.

As technical-services manager over four spring-summer seasons, the participant chooses which package the cooperative promotes (the vendor full kit, a satellite app or an offer by farm size with a cooperative zone service), how the first season is piloted and who owns the plot data; then sets the terms, the messenger and the field-support capacity of the adoption drive; answers a dry El Nino year, an offer to buy the members yield data and the conflict between the technicians fertiliser bonus and the members gain; and finally decides the route for the small producers, the next technology and how the programme is funded.

The model is deterministic: the return per hectare depends on farm size and weather, sign-up depends on the return each group believes, the evidence it trusts, the messenger and what neighbours saw, and support capacity decides how much of the effect reaches the field.

The score combines the quality of each decision with the members net gain, the breadth of adoption and the programme fund, and is capped for selling plot data without consent and for overrunning the board tolerance. Spanish (primary) and English.
