About this simulation

A 90-minute, 4-round procedural Express simulation for the Spanish vocational module 0020 Primeros auxilios, common to at least twelve titles (Atencion a Personas en Situacion de Dependencia, Educacion Infantil, Integracion Social, Animacion Sociocultural y Turistica, Actividades Ecuestres, Conduccion and others): the first minutes of four accidents, one per sector.

The learner is Maite Escuredo Lanzos (fictional), a care worker who escorts the adapted minibus of a fictional mancomunidad in rural Spain.

In four moments you decide what you do first and how you carry on until help arrives: a resident who collapses in a residence dining room and gasps; a three-year-old who chokes on a piece of apple at the door of an infant class; a motorcyclist bleeding on a country road at nightfall, helmet on, with a smell of petrol; and a rider who falls from her horse at a riding centre twelve kilometres from the health centre and does not respond, though she breathes.

The strong path: 112 on speaker for anyone who does not respond and the AED on its way, gasping recognised as cardiac arrest, compressions hard, fast and without pauses and the AED pads on as soon as it arrives; an effective cough encouraged and watched, then five back blows alternating with five abdominal thrusts, never a blind finger; protect, alert, help, in that order, with the hazard lights, the V-16 beacon and a vest; firm direct pressure on the bleeding, the helmet left on; after the fall, head and neck held in line, airway watched, a log roll if she vomits; and an orderly handover to the ambulance crew, without medicines or promises.

Scored on protocol quality, seconds lost before the critical actions, scene safety, the condition of the casualties, the trust of 112, the teams and the families, a good-outcome index and serious errors; four serious errors (the recovery position for a gasping man, a blind finger sweep, a helmet removed, a casualty with a possible spinal injury moved onto a trailer) cap the score.

Fictional people and places; current first-aid and basic life support guidance (European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2025) followed at training level; no drugs, doses or diagnoses; the outcome index is an author device, not a clinical figure. Complements, never replaces, supervised practical first-aid training. Spanish primary, English included.

Who it is for

An intermediate simulation for participants who already know the core concepts of the subject, designed for master's and MBA programmes.

How a session runs

  1. The instructor creates a session from the Eureka dashboard and invites the participants.
  2. Participants play 4 rounds. In each one they submit their decisions and the simulation calculates the results. The first round opens with: Lunes 11 de enero de 2027, 13:20: el comedor de la residencia.
  3. The simulation can be run in English, Español.
  4. The instructor follows each participant's progress and results from the dashboard, and uses the class results for the debrief.

Decisions participants make

The decisions participants make during the simulation:

  • Qué haces en los primeros segundos
  • Cómo sigues cuando el 112 confirma que no respira con normalidad
  • Qué haces mientras Iker todavía tose fuerte
  • Qué haces cuando la tos deja de servir
  • Qué hacéis al llegar al accidente
  • Qué haces con Raúl y su hemorragia
  • Qué haces con Nuria en el suelo
  • Qué haces cuando llega la ambulancia
