About this simulation

The learner is a 39-year-old product manager at a Zaragoza food manufacturer who starts every day reading email in bed and leaves the important work for the afternoon: the sales and marketing director wants the launch plan for a new range of ready-to-eat legume dishes for the management committee in April, and his best morning hours go to the inbox and a daily stand-up.

Decision 1, Monday 1 February 2027: how he finds his best hours (assume them, a two-week hourly alertness log with a chronotype questionnaire, or a colleague's 5 a.m. challenge), what he opens first (email in bed, one short scan for three named senders, or the inbox closed until noon with no route for the urgent) and what goes into the window (whatever lands, the hardest piece chosen the evening before, or small tasks first).

Decision 2, late February: the daily stand-up in the middle of the window (keep it, propose moving and shortening it, or stop going without a word), where he works the window (the open-plan desk, a booked quiet room, or arriving at 7:30) and how the urgent reaches him (nothing agreed, a call agreed with his director, or WhatsApp for everything).

Decision 3, March: sleep and wake-up time (late nights, a fixed wake-up every day, or weekend catch-up), the first half hour (the phone in bed, daylight and a walk, or a sunrise alarm and a twelve-habit app) and what the rest of the day does (meetings and email everywhere, after the window, or a second deep block in the afternoon dip).

Decision 4, April: the team (protect the window silently, propose meeting-free mornings, or accept nine o'clock meetings again), the broken week of customer visits (drop the window, force it at 5 a.m., or a 30-minute minimum) and the review (none, ten minutes on Friday, or a smartwatch and habit tracker).

A deterministic week-by-week model over 12 weeks turns these into four indices (mornings, the launch plan, energy and standing), window hours on the important work a week, hours worked a week, euros out of pocket and open risk. The score combines the quality of each decision with those outcomes and is capped when he closes the inbox with no route for the urgent. Spanish (primary, Spain) and English.

Who it is for

An intermediate simulation for participants who already know the core concepts of the subject, designed for master's and MBA programmes.

How a session runs

  1. The instructor creates a session from the Eureka dashboard and invites the participants.
  2. Participants play 4 rounds. In each one they submit their decisions and the simulation calculates the results.
  3. The simulation can be run in English, Español.
  4. The instructor follows each participant's progress and results from the dashboard, and uses the class results for the debrief.

Decisions participants make

The decisions participants make during the simulation:

  • Dónde trabajas la franja
  • Cómo te llega lo urgente
  • El sueño y la hora de levantarte
  • La primera media hora
  • Qué hace el resto del día
  • El equipo

What participants track

What participants follow on screen as the rounds go by:
