About this simulation
A 90-minute, 4-round advanced Express simulation on running a residence for older people, for health- and social-care management programmes and for directors, care coordinators and nurse supervisors of residences.
Residencia Los Tilos (a fictional 120-place residence in Spain: 80 places contracted by the regional social-services agency and 40 private; 110 residents, most of them with severe dependency): as the new director you run 2027 quarter by quarter.
Round by round you decide the staffing model and whom to admit into the empty beds, what to do about falls and how to keep the care team, how to respond to a resident's night fall and how to get through the summer, and how to face an unannounced inspection and how to grow.
Each quarter is scored on the care given against what the residents' dependency requires, falls with injury, occupancy, the families' confidence and the operating result; restraining residents without prescription to cover the night, or rewriting the record of a serious incident, caps the score.
Who it is for
An advanced simulation for participants used to working with the main frameworks and trade-offs of the subject, designed for executive education and experienced professionals.
How a session runs
- The instructor creates a session from the Eureka dashboard and invites the participants.
- Participants play 4 rounds. In each one they submit their decisions and the simulation calculates the results. The first round opens with: Lunes 11 de enero de 2027: la plantilla y los ingresos.
- The simulation can be run in English, Español.
- The instructor follows each participant's progress and results from the dashboard, and uses the class results for the debrief.
