About this simulation

A 90-minute, 4-round basic Express simulation on the economic utilities of marketing (time, place, form, possession and information) for US high-school Career and Technical Education marketing courses (Arizona Marketing Technical Standard 2.10) and introductory business classes.

Dry Creek Mercantile (a fictional family general store in Maricopa, Arizona): as the summer marketing intern, you decide the store hours, where the snack cart goes, how the shirt counter customises, which payment options families get for big items, whether to run a school supply kit club, and how to help customers choose.

Twice you also name the utility each change created: in the summer flyer and in the year-end report to the Chamber of Commerce. Scored on profit, customer satisfaction, utility literacy, and compliance with US rules on credit disclosure, fake reviews, trademarks, vendor permits and recurring plans.

Who it is for

An introductory simulation that assumes no prior knowledge of the subject, designed for undergraduate courses. It also works in vocational and high-school programmes and in onboarding sessions.

How a session runs

  1. The instructor creates a session from the Eureka dashboard and invites the participants.
  2. Participants play 4 rounds. In each one they submit their decisions and the simulation calculates the results. The first round opens with: Monday 5 April 2027: time and place.
  3. The simulation can be run in English, Español.
  4. The instructor follows each participant's progress and results from the dashboard, and uses the class results for the debrief.
