About this simulation

A 90-minute, 4-round procedural Express simulation for the Spanish vocational title Tecnico en Atencion a Personas en Situacion de Dependencia (module 0831, Teleasistencia): one night shift at the console of a telecare service. The learner is Irene Calzadilla Morante (fictional), an operator at Atalaya Teleasistencia, a fictional company that runs the public telecare service of a fictional rural comarca in Spain.

In four moments you decide how you take a fallen woman's call and which resource you mobilise; what you do with an alarm that comes in without a voice and with a lonely widower calling for the fourth time; what you do when a woman alone says her chest is tight and what you pass to 112; and how you follow up the night's calls and close the shift, with a neighbour on the phone asking what happened.

The strong path: the user's file opened as the call is answered and the call classified, the mobile unit with the key for a fall without injury, every silent alarm verified by protocol, loneliness listened to and scheduled, a possible heart emergency transferred to 112 at once with a structured handover and the line kept open, follow-up calls scheduled by priority, every incident recorded and reported with proposals, and health data kept confidential.

Scored on the fit of the response, delay points, the share of the night's users safe and supported, your time and the line, the users' safety and wellbeing, the trust of users, families and team and practice risk; three shortcuts (telling a fallen woman to get up alone, downgrading an alarm, naming a cause for a chest pain) come back and cap the score. Fictional people and places; real Spanish rules (Ley 39/2006 art.

22, UNE 158401:2019, RD 903/1997, RGPD) cited at principle level; no drugs, doses or diagnoses; training level only. Spanish primary, English included.

Who it is for

An intermediate simulation for participants who already know the core concepts of the subject, designed for master's and MBA programmes.

How a session runs

  1. The instructor creates a session from the Eureka dashboard and invites the participants.
  2. Participants play 4 rounds. In each one they submit their decisions and the simulation calculates the results. The first round opens with: Viernes 12 de febrero de 2027, 22:10: la caída.
  3. The simulation can be run in English, Español.
  4. The instructor follows each participant's progress and results from the dashboard, and uses the class results for the debrief.

Decisions participants make

The decisions participants make during the simulation:

  • Cómo atiendes la llamada de doña Pilar
  • Qué recurso movilizas para su caída
  • Qué haces con la alarma sin voz de doña Amparo
  • Qué haces con la cuarta llamada de don Evaristo
  • Qué haces cuando a doña Remedios le aprieta el pecho
  • Qué le pasas al 112 y cómo sigues en la línea
  • Cómo haces el seguimiento de las llamadas de la noche
  • Cómo cierras el turno: registro, informe y la vecina al teléfono
