A 90-minute, 4-round basic Express simulation for Spanish vocational training (Formacion Profesional), module 0453 Sistemas auxiliares del motor of the Tecnico en Electromecanica de Vehiculos Automoviles (Real Decreto 453/2010), with a grado superior cut on module 0293 Motores termicos y sus sistemas auxiliares of the Tecnico Superior en Automocion (Real Decreto 1796/2008).

The learner is Casilda Mugueta, a newly qualified diagnosis technician at a fictional independent workshop, Talleres Senosiain in Valdecorvos.

Four situations set the workshop's course in 2027: a petrol car with the engine warning lamp flashing and jerking, and how the fault is approached and the cylinder isolated; a fleet diesel van with a rail-pressure code, and how the fuel pressure and the injectors are checked; an intermittent jerk that only appears hot, and how it is reproduced and how the engine is run in the bay; and the annual review of how the workshop diagnoses and closes each job (Real Decreto 1457/1986: written estimate, replaced parts, invoice, guarantee).

Measuring before replacing parts saves the customer time and money. Scored on the faults diagnosed right first time, the cost of diagnosis and parts, the days with a fault unresolved and the people-days exposed; training-level decision practice that complements the module's supervised practical work and each manufacturer's procedures, with pressures and voltages given only as orders of magnitude.

Three hard-fails cap the round at 40: checking the spark by hand with the engine running, loosening a high-pressure diesel union with the engine running, and running the engine over the pit with the door shut and no extraction (Real Decreto 374/2001 art. 5.2). Spanish primary, English parity.
