Socorrismo en el medio natural

A 90-minute, 4-round basic Express simulation for Spanish vocational training (Formacion Profesional, grado medio), module 1337 Socorrismo en el medio natural of the Tecnico en Guia en el Medio Natural y de Tiempo Libre (Real Decreto 402/2020). The learner is Yaiza Torrontegui, a newly qualified guide who leads the lifeguard service of a fictional river beach and reservoir in the summer of 2027: 39,000 bather-days.

Four incidents set the service's protocol: reading the river and the rescue technique, the alert chain and the approach at distance, basic life support for drowning and the care of a conscious casualty, prevention zones and the review of the season. Reach and throw before you enter: the rescuer must not become another casualty.

Scored on favourable outcomes, time to contact, rescuer exposures and bathers in difficulty; training-level decision practice that complements practical water and manikin training; no drugs, doses or diagnosis.

Two hard-fails cap the round at 40: jumping into a current without rescue material (module 1337, learning outcomes 1 and 6) and leaving a drowned person who is not breathing normally in the recovery position (learning outcome 2; ERC Guidelines 2025: five rescue breaths, then CPR). Spanish primary, English parity.

An introductory simulation that assumes no prior knowledge of the subject, designed for undergraduate courses. It also works in vocational and high-school programmes and in onboarding sessions.
