About this simulation

Two equal cofounders of a fictional Valencia company that delivers weekly boxes of fresh produce to 9,000 households have disagreed for five months about where the company goes: one wants to open Madrid, the other to move into hotels and restaurants. The learner is one of them, with EUR 1,600,000 in the bank and a monthly burn of EUR 109,700.

Decision 1, January 2027: what the disagreement is really about (the market, a mapped mix of direction and decision rights, or the other founder's commitment), how the direction is settled (argued out, a consultancy, or a 10-week joint test with a decision rule signed in advance) and what the team hears.

Decision 2, the April board: the direction (Madrid, hospitality, or growing in Valencia and selling surplus produce to restaurants), who decides what (consensus, the investor as arbiter, or a written split with an independent director as tie-break) and the exit clause (none, a shotgun clause, or a buy-out at an independent valuation paid over three years).

Decision 3, July: the cofounder signs a large hotel contract beyond the agreed limit - let it pass, take it to the agreed forum, or revoke her powers at a board meeting she was not called to; the founders' time; and what to tell the investor who calls privately.

Decision 4, the October review: carry on, review against the April criteria and renew or part through the agreed mechanism, or announce a separation; what the team hears; and what is written for the future. The model is deterministic: the direction is built month by month, scaled by how it was decided and who stands behind it; a partnership index at the review selects the outcome.

The result is the revenue run-rate, the cash on 31 December 2027, the team leads still there, the founders' relationship and the board's confidence. The score combines the quality of each decision with revenue, cash, leads and confidence, and is capped when a director's powers are revoked at a board meeting called without notice to her, a resolution that can be challenged under Spanish company law.

Who it is for

An intermediate simulation for participants who already know the core concepts of the subject, designed for master's and MBA programmes.

How a session runs

  1. The instructor creates a session from the Eureka dashboard and invites the participants.
  2. Participants play 4 rounds. In each one they submit their decisions and the simulation calculates the results.
  3. The simulation can be run in English, Español.
  4. The instructor follows each participant's progress and results from the dashboard, and uses the class results for the debrief.
