A 90-minute, 4-round basic Express simulation for Spanish vocational training (Formacion Profesional, grado superior), module 1387 Organizacion y gestion de la fabricacion de productos farmaceuticos, biotecnologicos y afines of the Tecnico Superior en Fabricacion de Productos Farmaceuticos, Biotecnologicos y Afines.

You are Marina Sacedon, the new production technician of Laboratorios Henarves S.L., a fictional generics plant of Marchamalo (Guadalajara) with about 110 people and one granulation, compression and blistering train, and the production manager asks you to programme the allergy season over 24 weeks, from January to June 2029.

The train loses 26.5 of its 80 hours a week to product changes, full cleanings and breakdowns: an OEE of 54%, 102,840 boxes a week while the pollen season asks for 175,000. The plant leaves 19% of the demand unserved and earns a margin below 3%.

Round by round you decide two things: the master plan and the shifts; the campaigns of products and strengths with their cleanings and how the format changes are done; maintenance and the supply of active substance; and how to answer a wholesaler during a competitor shortage and a lot that failed its dissolution test.

Each week the capacity, the OEE, the stock within the approved warehouse, the service failures, the boxes rejected and the result are recomputed. Each round is scored on the result improvement over 24 weeks, the OEE, the service failures and the cost per lot, with the margin, the stock, the boxes rejected and the changes shown but not scored.

The quick cleaning between different active substances or a lot retested until it passes and released cap the score. Spanish with English.
