About this simulation

A 90-minute, 4-round intermediate Express simulation for Spanish vocational training (Formacion Profesional, grado superior), module 0662 Organizacion de eventos empresariales of the Tecnico Superior en Asistencia a la Direccion.

You are Lucia Mascarell, the management assistant of Montesoro S.A., a fictional Valencian distributor of pumps and irrigation equipment, and you organise its two-day sales convention of May 2027: 180 attendees, 140 of them travelling, on a closed budget of 95,000 euros.

Round by round you decide two things: in January the venue and the catering; in February the keynote speaker and the travel and lodging; in April the audiovisual supplier and the contracts with every supplier; and three days before the convention the response to a coach company that fails and the use of the attendees data.

Every supplier has a quote, a probability of failure and a cost of failure; the model works with expected values, and at each decision point the convention is projected again with the decisions taken so far.

Each round is scored on the expected final cost against the budget, attendee satisfaction and expected incidents, with the committed cost shown but not scored; hiring a caterer without health registration or allergen information, or handing the attendee list to the sponsors without consent, caps the score. Spanish with English.

Who it is for
