The learner is a traffic manager at a 380-person logistics operator in Valencia, Spain, earning EUR 46,000 base, who wants to move into demand planning at a manufacturer or distributor in the region and whose 87 scattered portal applications in 2026 landed no offer, and who has to replace volume with a list of ten target companies.
Decision 1, January 2027: how to choose companies (keep applying to about 120 postings a year, the ten best-known brands, or ten kept from a long list of forty scored on fit, hiring signals and access), how to research them (read the posting, pay EUR 900 for a premium portal year, or a one-page dossier per company from public sources) and which CV to send (generic, inflated with an unfinished degree and a title never held, or tailored with a one-page value note).
Decision 2, April: how to get in (the portal, cold messages to chief executives, or a warm path through first- and second-degree contacts), what to ask for (a job, a referral at once, or advice about the team) and the weekly rhythm (a January push, a fixed two-hour block with a tracker, or every evening).
Decision 3, June: a planning role opens at one target, with the choice of how to apply (the portal, messages to strangers asking for a referral, or a referral by a former colleague with his permission), how to prepare (improvise, a generic coach, or a 30-60-90-day plan for that company) and what to do with the rest of the list (stop, keep the weekly block, or go back to mass applications).
Decision 4, September: the offer (accept the first number, invent a competing offer, or negotiate with market evidence), afterwards (drop the network, a generic post, or thank and update everyone who helped) and the other processes (ghost them, accept a second offer and back out, or withdraw courteously).
A deterministic model combines the quality of the list and the warmth of the access into the chance that a fitting opening reaches her and ends in an offer, and drives expected pay in 2028, expected pay from 2029 to 2031, the risk that her employer finds out and the hours spent. The score combines the quality of each decision with those four outcomes and is capped when she sends a CV with false statements.
