About this simulation

A 90-minute, 4-round Express simulation in the learner's own chair on the first offer to advise a startup made to a salaried director who has no idea what is fair: asking before saying yes, telling the employer first, setting the scope before the equity, putting the terms in writing, answering a lower number by trading scope, bringing her own know-how and never her employer's, a rule for the offers that follow, and stepping aside when the startup bids in her own company's tender.

Ines Valdecasas (fictional) is the procurement director of Colectivas Ebro, a fictional Zaragoza contract caterer of 2,300 people; the founder of Racionia, a fictional seed-stage food-waste startup, asks her to be his advisor for some shares, her name on the website and a call a month.

You decide what you answer and whom you tell first, the scope and time you offer and the equity and terms you propose, what you say to the founder's lower number and what you bring to the first session, and the rule you use for the offers that follow and what you do next, with the startup bidding in your company's tender.

Scored on what you bring and the role recognises, the chance that the role works on your terms, the paper value of the package you secure, your time and energy, your standing in the ecosystem and with your company, and open risk; two shortcuts (handing over your employer's prices and tender specifications, scoring the bid while holding the bidder's equity) come back and cap the score.

Spanish primary, English included.

  3. The simulation can be run in English, Español.
