About this simulation

A 90-minute, 4-round intermediate Express simulation for Spanish vocational training (Formacion Profesional, grado superior), module 0386 Procesos de guia y asistencia turistica of the Tecnico Superior en Guia, Informacion y Asistencias Turisticas.

You are Maialen Arizmendi, the new tour escort of Viajes Mendibil S.L., a fictional Bilbao agency that organises its own circuits, on her first group: 40 travellers, most of them retired, on a seven-day circuit of Andalusia in May 2027. Each round is one incident on the road. In Cordoba a 79-year-old traveller does not come back to the meeting point: you decide how to search for him and whom to notify.

At the Alhambra a traveller is taken ill: you decide how to act and what you tell the group. In Seville the hotel has sold more rooms than it has: you decide which solution you accept and who moves, and what the hotel signs. At Malaga airport the flight home is cancelled: you decide how the group gets home and what you tell the travellers about their rights.

The model works with expected values; each round is scored on the whole circuit so far, on group safety, hours to resolve each incident, the net cost to the agency once what can be recovered from insurers, hotels and airlines is taken off, and group satisfaction. Posting a traveller's health data on the group chat, or having travellers sign away their rights, caps the score.

The lesson: resolving fast and documenting well protects both the client and the agency. Spanish with English.

Who it is for

An intermediate simulation for participants who already know the core concepts of the subject, designed for master's and MBA programmes.

How a session runs

  1. The instructor creates a session from the Eureka dashboard and invites the participants.
  2. Participants play 4 rounds. In each one they submit their decisions and the simulation calculates the results. The first round opens with: Martes 11 de mayo, 13:10, Córdoba: un viajero que no vuelve.
  3. The simulation can be run in English, Español.
  4. The instructor follows each participant's progress and results from the dashboard, and uses the class results for the debrief.

Decisions participants make

The decisions participants make during the simulation:

  • Cómo buscas a Ramón
  • A quién avisas y qué apuntas
  • Cómo actúas
  • Qué cuentas al grupo y qué apuntas
  • Qué solución aceptas
  • Quién se va y qué queda firmado
  • Cómo vuelve el grupo
  • Qué les dices de sus derechos
