Sobre la simulación

A 90-minute, 4-round procedural Express simulation for the Spanish vocational title Tecnico en Atencion a Personas en Situacion de Dependencia (module 0213, Atencion y apoyo psicosocial): agitation and wandering in a resident with dementia. The learner is Noelia Cifuentes Arrabal (fictional), a care worker at the Residencia El Sabinar, a fictional residence for older people in Valdemerino, a fictional Spanish town.

Don Anselmo, 82, a retired shepherd with an advanced dementia of the Alzheimer type, wants to leave every afternoon at dusk to shut the sheep in and find his late wife.

In four moments you decide how you approach him at the exit door and how you record the episode; what you do when he resists the morning shower and what you report to nursing; what you do about his night walk and the frightened resident whose room he entered; and what you answer his daughter when she brings a belt, and what you propose in the care-plan review.

The strong path: validation before correction, an ABC record shared with the team, personal care adapted to his routine, signs of pain and constipation reported to the nurse the same shift, the night walk accompanied with a safe route, the other resident attended with dignity, the family fear listened to and answered, and the individual care plan built on what works for him.

Scored on the fit of the care plan, escalation points, the share of afternoons without a crisis, your time and energy, his wellbeing, the trust of the family and the team and practice risk; three shortcuts (his arms held in the shower, his door locked at night, the belt put on because the family asks) are restraints without prescription, consent or record, come back and cap the score.

Fictional people and places; real Spanish rules (Ley 39/2006, Instruccion FGE 1/2022) cited at principle level; no drugs, doses or diagnoses; training level only. Spanish primary, English included.
