About this simulation

A 90-minute, 4-round Express simulation on workforce planning under US visa timelines, for human-resource management, technology-management and business-law courses at Hispanic-Serving Institutions, engineering-management capstones, career-services workshops and continuing education. Bilingual EN/ES.

Brasada Freightworks (a fictional logistics-software company in San Antonio, Texas, with about 70 employees, growing its engineering team from 26 to 38): as the new people lead you plan its 2027 hiring with ten international engineers on F-1 OPT and H-1B visas.

You decide how to post the openings lawfully and whom to register for the H-1B draw, what to do for the engineers not selected and what wage and fees go on the petitions, how to handle idle visa holders when a client pauses and whether to sponsor green cards, and how to answer a USCIS site visit and a competitor recruiting your team.

Scored on engineering capacity delivered, spend on the plan, immigration and employment compliance, international engineers retained and team trust.

Who it is for

An intermediate simulation for participants who already know the core concepts of the subject, designed for master's and MBA programmes.

How a session runs

  1. The instructor creates a session from the Eureka dashboard and invites the participants.
  2. Participants play 4 rounds. In each one they submit their decisions and the simulation calculates the results. The first round opens with: Monday 4 January 2027: the postings and the registrations.
  3. The simulation can be run in English, Español.
  4. The instructor follows each participant's progress and results from the dashboard, and uses the class results for the debrief.
