About this simulation

A 90-minute, 4-round advanced Express simulation on preparing a hospital for an international accreditation survey and keeping it afterwards, for health-management programmes and for hospital quality and patient-safety units and management teams.

Hospital Valdoria, a fictional 310-bed private hospital in Spain, 2027: as its new director of quality and patient safety you have twelve weeks to the survey under the Joint Commission International hospital standards and six months after it, with a programme budget of 1.17 million euros.

Round by round you choose the order of the gap list and who governs the project, how protocols are written and how practice changes at the bedside, how to answer an unannounced mock survey and how to correct the clinical record, and how compliance and incident reporting are sustained once the surveyors leave.

Each period is scored on observed compliance with the patient-safety practices, the measurable elements met as the surveyors tracers see them, the high-risk findings still open, preventable harm, the teams engagement and spending against budget; giving a consultant the clinical records without a processing contract, staging the survey week, or back-dating the clinical record, caps the score.
