About this simulation
A 90-minute, 4-round basic Express simulation for Spanish vocational training (Formacion Profesional, grado medio), module 0053 Logistica sanitaria en emergencias of the Tecnico en Emergencias Sanitarias (Real Decreto 1397/2007).
The learner is Nerea Albizu, an emergency medical technician who is first on scene at a fictional chain collision with a coach in fog and then runs the incident's health logistics, phase by phase: organising the scene, triage, the advanced medical post, the material, the ambulances, the walking wounded, the victims' register and the release of units. More people are saved by organising than by treating one by one.
Scored on reds evacuated in time, time to evacuation, material shortfalls and ordinary ambulance cover lost; no clinical procedures. Two hard-fails cap the round at 40: sending basic ambulances out with a single technician (Real Decreto 836/2012 art. 4.1.b) and sharing the victims' names and photographs in a messaging group (Ley 41/2002 art. 7.1; GDPR art. 9). Spanish primary, English parity.
Who it is for
An introductory simulation that assumes no prior knowledge of the subject, designed for undergraduate courses. It also works in vocational and high-school programmes and in onboarding sessions.
How a session runs
- The instructor creates a session from the Eureka dashboard and invites the participants.
- Participants play 4 rounds. In each one they submit their decisions and the simulation calculates the results. The first round opens with: 07:50: la escena y el triaje.
- The simulation can be run in English, Español.
- The instructor follows each participant's progress and results from the dashboard, and uses the class results for the debrief.
