Microseguros: Proteger a Quien Nunca Tuvo Seguro
A mid-size Peruvian life insurer launches a microinsurance unit for families who have never had a policy, with a fixed cost of S/ 600,000 a year and…
The new head of the claims investigation unit of a Spanish motor and home insurer has twelve investigators, a set of legacy rules that flag three times more claims than the team can read, and honest customers waiting for their money.
The new head of the claims investigation unit of a Spanish motor and home insurer has twelve investigators, a set of legacy rules that flag three times more claims than the team can read, and honest customers waiting for their money.
Over four quarters of 2027 the participant chooses the detection tool, the alert threshold and the order of the investigation queue; how flagged customers are treated, what happens to alerts not finished at quarter end and what the tool learns from closed cases; what to do about a ring of body shops and physiotherapy clinics, which deterrent to launch and how the unit measures its results; and finally how capacity grows, how the team bonus is paid and the threshold for the last quarter.
The model is deterministic: false-positive rates and recall by tool and threshold set the alert volume and precision, the queue order decides which fraud is caught when alerts exceed capacity, and every honest customer flagged, kept waiting or refused has a cost.
The score combines the quality of each decision with the quarter net result (fraud prevented and deterred less unit cost and customer friction), and is capped when claims are refused on suspicion or by association without evidence. Spanish (primary, peninsular) and English.
