About this simulation

A 90-minute, 4-round advanced Express simulation on launching a payments product on Brazil's Pix instant-payment rails inside the Central Bank's regulatory perimeter and taking it to unit-economics break-even, for business, economics and information-systems programmes and for product, risk, compliance and finance teams of payment institutions and fintechs.

Tarrafa Pagamentos (a fictional Recife start-up selling small merchants a Pix acceptance account through a banking-as-a-service partner): as its co-founder and CEO you run four quarters, Q4 2026 to Q3 2027.

Round by round you choose the regulatory perimeter and the price, the onboarding policy and the acquisition channel, the answer to the partner bank's fraud alarm and the next product, and the cost base and the next market step.

Each quarter is scored on EBITDA, the contribution per merchant, the active merchants, the fraud losses and the regulatory-confidence index; holding the merchants' balances without authorisation, or opening a reseller's batch of accounts without checks, caps the score. Portuguese (Brazil) with Spanish and English.
