About this simulation

A 90-minute, 4-round basic Express simulation for Spanish vocational training (Formacion Profesional, grado medio and grado superior), the common modules 1664 and 1665 Digitalizacion aplicada a los sectores productivos.

You are Irene Gabas, the junior production technician of Mecanizados Ebrovalle S.L., a fictional 18-person machining workshop near Zaragoza that makes parts for agricultural machinery, and you lead its digitalisation plan over 24 months, from April 2027 to March 2029. Customers ask for 130 orders a month; the workshop serves 100 because its machining cell is the bottleneck.

Round by round you decide two things: how to diagnose what to digitalise and the first project (digital work orders and machine monitoring, an ERP, an online shop or an AI chatbot); the order of implementation and the provider; the training and where the data live; and, once the bottleneck has moved, the second step and how the plant data are used.

Every month the orders served are the minimum of demand and the capacity of the office, the machining cell and assembly; projects raise demand or capacity as they are adopted.

Each round is scored on the net benefit over 24 months, the extra orders served and the adoption reached, with the investment, the total cost, the payback and the year-two saving shown but not scored; keeping personal data in free personal clouds with no processor contract, or ranking operators from machine data without informing them, caps the score. Spanish with English.

Who it is for

An introductory simulation that assumes no prior knowledge of the subject, designed for undergraduate courses. It also works in vocational and high-school programmes and in onboarding sessions.

How a session runs

  1. The instructor creates a session from the Eureka dashboard and invites the participants.
  2. Participants play 4 rounds. In each one they submit their decisions and the simulation calculates the results. The first round opens with: Lunes 1 de marzo de 2027: el diagnóstico y el primer proyecto.
  3. The simulation can be run in English, Español.
  4. The instructor follows each participant's progress and results from the dashboard, and uses the class results for the debrief.

Decisions participants make

The decisions participants make during the simulation:

  • Cómo decides qué digitalizar
  • El primer proyecto
  • El orden de implantación
  • El proveedor
  • La formación
  • Los datos y la nube
  • El segundo paso
  • Cómo se usan los datos de planta
