About this simulation
A 90-minute, 4-round basic Express simulation for Spanish vocational training (Formacion Profesional, grado superior), module 0133 Gestion del montaje, de la calidad y del mantenimiento of the Tecnico Superior en Mantenimiento de Instalaciones Termicas y de Fluidos (Real Decreto 220/2008).
The learner is Lucia Arjona, the new contract manager of a fictional maintenance company that runs the integral maintenance contract of the thermal and fluid installations of a fictional 360-room hotel in Malaga through 2028, quarter by quarter: the preventive plan, the on-site team, the spares, the specialist subcontractors, the summer, the repairs, the client and the periodic inspection.
The year is simulated quarter by quarter, so the preventive work of each quarter sets the condition of the next: cutting it improves this quarter's margin and sinks the next one's. Scored on margin, availability, comfort incidents, cost against budget and inspection deficiencies. Two hard-fails cap the round at 40: fire-protection checks by an unregistered firm (Real Decreto 513/2017, Reglamento art.
14.1) and a maintenance register filled with operations not done (RITE art. 27). Spanish primary, English parity.
Who it is for
An introductory simulation that assumes no prior knowledge of the subject, designed for undergraduate courses. It also works in vocational and high-school programmes and in onboarding sessions.
How a session runs
- The instructor creates a session from the Eureka dashboard and invites the participants.
- Participants play 4 rounds. In each one they submit their decisions and the simulation calculates the results. The first round opens with: Lunes 3 de enero de 2028: el plan preventivo y la plantilla.
- The simulation can be run in English, Español.
- The instructor follows each participant's progress and results from the dashboard, and uses the class results for the debrief.
