About this simulation
A 90-minute, 4-round advanced Express simulation on keeping a Brazilian beef supply chain deforestation-free and proving it to European buyers, for business, agribusiness and engineering programmes and for sustainability, compliance and purchasing teams.
Jatobá Carnes (a fictional beef plant in south-east Pará buying cattle from about 1,450 ranches, most of whose calves are born on indirect suppliers it has never seen): as its first sustainability and supply-compliance director you run four quarters across the entry into application of the EU Deforestation Regulation.
Round by round you choose the traceability system and what to do with the problems it finds, reach the indirect suppliers and answer the EU importer's contract, respond to an NGO report and support the producers, and decide what to do with the verified volume and the next market step.
Each quarter is scored on EBITDA, the verified share of the slaughter, the accumulated compliance-risk exposure, the slaughter volume and the suppliers' index; buying blocked cattle through a clean farm, or signing the importer's declarations for unverified cattle, caps the score. How a session runs
- The instructor creates a session from the Eureka dashboard and invites the participants.
- Participants play 4 rounds. In each one they submit their decisions and the simulation calculates the results.
- The simulation can be run in English, Español.
- The instructor follows each participant's progress and results from the dashboard, and uses the class results for the debrief.
