Sobre la simulación

A 90-minute, 4-round Express simulation in the learner's own chair as an analyst whose work a peer has just presented as his own at a management committee, and the eight months that follow: thirty calm seconds in the room that state the fact, add something and offer to work together rather than silence, a clever question that hides the authorship or a public accusation; the facts written down within the hour rather than nothing, an angry call to the manager or a post mocking the peer in the team chat; a private conversation with the facts and curiosity and a concrete repair (two lines to the committee naming the author, a co-led pilot) rather than avoiding him, an email copied to the directors or asking him to step aside; the pilot backed when a customer complains rather than leaving it to him or taking lanes out; working out loud with everyone's name in it rather than letting the work speak for itself, copying the managing director on everything or hoarding the model; and one honest page at the review and a team norm for naming who did the work.

Lucia Ojos Benizar (fictional) is a senior logistics planning analyst at Agricola Campotejar, a fictional grower-exporter of lettuce, broccoli and citrus in Torre-Pacheco (Murcia), who built a load-consolidation model for the German and French lanes, set to save 140,000 euros between the pilot and December; Sergio Ulea Ricote, a peer in commercial operations, presents it at the operations committee and is asked to lead the pilot.

You decide what you do in the room and in the hour after, how you talk to Sergio and what you ask for, what you do with a customer complaint and how you make your work visible, and what you bring to your review and what you change in how work is credited.

Scored on how well your work is known, the chance that the project reaches every lane with you in it, the project's savings kept, your time and energy, your working relationship with Sergio and your credibility with management, and open risk; three shortcuts (opening the peer's mailbox with a password you still hold, stopping the pilot's data so everyone sees who makes it work, rewriting the change log to take his contribution) come back and cap the score.

Spanish primary, English included.

  • Qué llevas a tu evaluación
