Sobre la simulación

The learner is a senior data analyst at a 420-person logistics company in Valencia, Spain, earning EUR 41,000 base, who is approached by a fintech publishing a EUR 45,000 to 54,000 band while her own company prepares its pay review, and who has to find out what her role is worth on the market and use that figure.

Decision 1, February 2027: the role she compares (by title, by the role she wants, or by content: level, responsibilities, experience, city, company size), her sources (one salary website, three independent sources, or friends) and the data inside her company (ask nothing, export the payroll file she can access for her work, or ask HR in writing for her level band).

Decision 2: the statistic (the average, the adjusted median of comparable data, or the highest point), what she compares (base only, total pay with shares at paper value, or total pay at expected values) and how she expresses it (one figure, a 25th to 75th percentile range with a floor, or a very wide range).

Decision 3, March: what she tells the recruiter who asks her current salary and expectations (her current salary, 20 percent above her figure, or her market figure), what she does with her manager (nothing, a prepared case before the review, or an ultimatum) and the offer (accept, negotiate base only, or negotiate the package).

Decision 4, April: stay, run an auction between the two employers, or accept the negotiated offer; how she keeps the figure current (never, monthly interviews, or a yearly review); and what she does with her data (keep it, share it anonymously, or post the confidential offer letter).

A deterministic model with an unobserved market median, estimation biases by role definition, source and statistic, anchoring of the first offer, an expected-value risk that the offer is withdrawn and three-year pay growth drives first-year total pay, pay from 2028 to 2030, the error of her market figure and the hours spent.

The score combines the quality of each decision with those four outcomes and is capped when she exports colleagues payroll data for her own negotiation. Spanish (primary, Spain) and English.
