About this simulation

A 90-minute, 4-round Express simulation in the learner's own chair on the first speaking request of a salaried director who has never priced a talk: asking before answering, telling the employer before anyone else, pricing from the value with a target and a floor, putting the first number and the terms in writing, answering a lower budget by trading scope instead of caving, putting a real and cleared case on stage, deciding once when to speak for free, and turning down a supplier's paid invitation, for lifelong-learning, personal-brand, negotiation and outside-activities programmes for managers.

Itxaso Garamendi (fictional) runs logistics operations at Distribuciones Ibaigane, a fictional Bilbao food distributor of 1,150 people; her post on electric last-mile routes went round the sector and the organiser of a fictional logistics forum in Santander asks her for the keynote, with great visibility and no fee.

You decide what you answer and whom you tell first, how you set the fee and the terms you propose, what you say to the organiser's lower budget and what you put on stage, and the rule you use for the requests that follow and what you do next, with a paid invitation from a supplier bidding in your company's tender on the table.

Scored on how well you are paid for what you bring, the chance of closing on your terms, the year's speaking fees you secure, your time and energy, your standing in the sector and with your company, and open risk; putting the main client's confidential figures on a slide, or quietly accepting the bidder's fee, caps the score. Spanish with English.

Who it is for

An intermediate simulation for participants who already know the core concepts of the subject, designed for master's and MBA programmes.

How a session runs

  1. The instructor creates a session from the Eureka dashboard and invites the participants.
  2. Participants play 4 rounds. In each one they submit their decisions and the simulation calculates the results. The first round opens with: Martes 2 de marzo de 2027: la petición.
  3. The simulation can be run in English, Español.
  4. The instructor follows each participant's progress and results from the dashboard, and uses the class results for the debrief.

Decisions participants make

The decisions participants make during the simulation:

  • Qué le contestas
  • A quién se lo cuentas primero
  • Cómo fijas tu precio
  • En qué condiciones lo propones
  • «Tenemos 1.000 € y un taller»
  • Qué cuentas en el escenario
  • Con qué regla contestas lo que llega
  • Qué haces después
