About this simulation

A 90-minute, 4-round Express simulation from the learner's own chair as a project manager in a Spanish industrial-boiler company who, at 23:12 on a Thursday, has just sent a reply-all to a client that they regret, played from the minute after send to the client's award of the next phase seven weeks later, March to April 2027: what recall can and cannot do on a message already on another company's server, sending nothing more that night and drafting the follow-up where it cannot be sent, telling the manager in copy first, an apology that names the line and owns it without a but and without retracting the point that was true, the call before the second email, a written note for the file and the thread sent as it was, the specification changes taken out of the insult and into the contract's change clause, one sentence in the room where the email was read, and a sending rule instead of a promise.

The seat: the project manager on a EUR 1,240,000 steam-plant contract, two months late after seven specification changes, at Calderas Turon, S.A. (fictional, Mieres, Asturias, 160 people), with the client's EUR 360,000 phase 2 to be awarded by its governing board.

You decide what you do with the email in the first ten minutes and who hears it from you first, what your follow-up says and how it reaches them, what goes in writing and what you do with the part that was true, and what you do in the room and how you make sure it does not happen again.

Scored on the damage repaired, the chance that the client awards you phase 2, the phase-2 margin protected, your energy, your relationship with the client's buyer, your credibility, and open risk; two shortcuts (saying the email was a draft sent by mistake, and sending the client's lawyer a doctored copy of it) look like winning and cap the score. ES (Spain) primary, EN parity.

Who it is for

An intermediate simulation for participants who already know the core concepts of the subject, designed for master's and MBA programmes.

How a session runs

  1. The instructor creates a session from the Eureka dashboard and invites the participants.
  2. Participants play 4 rounds. In each one they submit their decisions and the simulation calculates the results. The first round opens with: Jueves 11 de marzo de 2027, 23:14: dos minutos después.
  3. The simulation can be run in English, Español.
  4. The instructor follows each participant's progress and results from the dashboard, and uses the class results for the debrief.

Decisions participants make

The decisions participants make during the simulation:

  • Qué haces con el correo en los próximos diez minutos
  • Quién lo sabe por ti primero
  • Qué dice tu siguiente mensaje
  • Cómo les llega
  • Qué queda por escrito
  • Qué haces con lo que sí era verdad
  • Qué haces en la sala mañana
  • Cómo te aseguras de que no vuelva a pasar
