About this simulation

The learner is a 44-year-old purchasing manager in Sevilla, Spain, dismissed after a merger (objective dismissal, EUR 48,000 base, statutory severance), collecting the maximum contributory unemployment benefit of EUR 1,575 a month and sending portal applications with no method, who has to run a twelve-week job search as a system.

Decision 1, week 1 (February 2027): what to search for (anything that appears, retraining now through a EUR 4,500 bootcamp, or two target profiles with a one-line pitch and a list of thirty companies), how to spend the week (35 hours on portals, a 25-hour plan split across conversations, targeted applications, recruiters and skills, or an AI auto-apply service) and how to keep track (memory, a EUR 1,800 private coach, or a tracker with four Friday numbers).

Decision 2, week 4: with 4 replies per 100 applications and screens lost at the exit and salary questions, where to act (double the applications, fix the stage that breaks, or lower the target), a bridge income (none, undeclared cash work while collecting the full benefit, or a declared part-time interim contract under the compatibility rule) and the rhythm (every evening, a routine with a peer club, or a two-week break).

Decision 3, week 7: how to prepare the interviews (improvise, memorised answers, or six stories from real results), how to tell why he left (vague, plainly, or blaming the merger and his former director) and the references (unbriefed, three briefed referees, or six attached to everything).

Decision 4, week 11: the first offer at EUR 44,000 while a better EUR 52,000 process is in its final round (accept at once, turn it down to wait, or ask for a week and tell the other company the truth), what to negotiate (nothing, a package with market evidence, or an ultimatum) and afterwards (close the system, keep interviewing in secret, or thank everyone and keep a light system).

A deterministic model turns system quality, execution and interview conversion into the chances of each offer and of long-term unemployment, and drives expected income from 2027 to 2030, the risk of long-term unemployment, expected weeks without a job and an energy index.

The score combines the quality of each decision with those four outcomes and is capped when he takes undeclared cash work while collecting the benefit. Spanish (primary, Spain) and English.

Who it is for

An intermediate simulation for participants who already know the core concepts of the subject, designed for master's and MBA programmes.

How a session runs

  1. The instructor creates a session from the Eureka dashboard and invites the participants.
  2. Participants play 4 rounds. In each one they submit their decisions and the simulation calculates the results.
  3. The simulation can be run in English, Español.
  4. The instructor follows each participant's progress and results from the dashboard, and uses the class results for the debrief.

Decisions participants make

The decisions participants make during the simulation:

  • Qué buscas
  • Cómo repartes tu semana
  • Cómo llevas la cuenta
  • Dónde se rompe tu embudo
  • Un ingreso puente
  • A qué ritmo trabajas
  • Cómo te preparas
  • Cómo cuentas por qué saliste
  • Tus referencias
  • Qué haces con la primera oferta

What participants track

What participants follow on screen as the rounds go by:

  • Decisión 1 · Tu sistema
  • Decisión 2 · Tus números
