About this simulation

A 90-minute, 4-round advanced Express simulation on US corporate reorganization under Chapter 11, for courses in corporate restructuring, distressed investing, corporate finance and business bankruptcy law.

Corvane Axle & Forge (a fictional forging company in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with 3,100 employees, a 460 million dollar term loan and 300 million dollars of unsecured notes): as CEO, with the chief restructuring officer, you take the company through a 2028 Chapter 11 case.

You decide how to file and how to fund the case with a DIP loan, which prepetition claims to pay at the first-day hearing and what to do with the customer contracts, whether to exit through a plan, a section 363 sale, a credit bid or a liquidation and how to keep key people, and how the plan treats each class and the creditors committee.

Scored on the value preserved for creditors, the minimum liquidity of the case, the objections the court sustains, the months spent in Chapter 11 and the jobs kept.
