Sobre la simulación

A manager at a fictional Spanish home-appliance retailer has led a maintenance-subscription project for fourteen months: EUR 1.2 million spent of 1.6 million, 2,100 subscribers against a plan of 12,000, a team of nine and a sales director who sponsored it in front of the whole company. Over four decisions the learner decides how to stop it without wasting what it taught.

Decision 1 sets how the evidence is gathered: one more quarter with a EUR 150,000 campaign, a four-week test with closing criteria written and signed in advance, or deciding now; whether the money already spent, the approved budget or only the cost still to come is counted; and who reads the data first (the team, nobody, or two colleagues from outside the project).

Decision 2 makes the call (carry on until December, close everything, or close the subscription and hand the working scheduling module to the technical service), takes it to the management committee (as a strategic pause, over the sponsor's head, or with the sponsor first) and treats the subscribers (a week's notice, silent renewals, or 90 days' notice with refunds and a voucher).

Decision 3 decides the team's destination, the story told and the speed of the announcement. Decision 4 sets the review (none, a hunt for culprits, or a blameless review), what is kept (everything including personal data, an ownerless folder, or a register with owners) and the rule for the next project.

The model is deterministic: weeks of burn to the close, test, customer, team, replacement and asset costs net of fee margin, the expected value of the rescued module and the small chance of a rescue give the net cost from today; the team still at the company, a trust index and the lessons that survive six months are computed from the decisions.

The score combines the quality of each decision with the net cost, people and trust, and the lessons kept, and is capped when renewals are charged for a service already decided to close or personal data are kept without purpose. Spanish (primary, Spain) and English.
