Sobre la simulación

A newly qualified transport and logistics technician coordinates the warehouse of a fictional Spanish online and wholesale seller of kitchenware and small appliances (Burgos) for the four weeks before Black Friday 2026, when orders will more than double.

The warehouse ships about 2,400 orders a week of three lines each with nine pickers and two packing tables, starts with 350 late orders and only 88% of its stock records match the shelf.

Over four weekly decisions the participant chooses how stock is slotted (by family, by velocity, or staged in the aisles), how orders are picked (order by order, in batches, or cherry-picked) and how stock accuracy is kept (wait for the annual stocktake, cycle counts, or adjusting the system blind); how orders are checked at packing, how pick faces are replenished and what happens to returns; what extra capacity is brought in for the peak, how packing is sized and what shipping promise is made for Black Friday; and in the peak week what to do with orders missing a line, which indicator goes on the board and what customers with late orders are told.

The model is deterministic: the weekly backlog of orders is rebuilt from the decision history, with capacity set by picking hours, lines per hour and packing tables, short lines by stock accuracy, and mispicks by the checks in place.

The score combines the quality of each decision with the share of orders shipped complete, error-free and on time and the cost of the week, and is capped when people work with blocked escape routes or untrained on forklifts, or when customers are told undispatched orders have shipped. Spanish (primary, Spain) and English.
