Eureka vs MEGA Learning
One of the oldest names in the field — team-based simulations delivered by an expert facilitator since 1989 — versus a platform your own professors run, from a 90-minute class to a full semester, in the language of the classroom.
For programme directors, faculty and L&D leads choosing between a simulation delivered as a facilitated workshop by the people who built it, and one their own instructors run themselves — across a wider catalogue and in more languages.

| Corporate L&D fit | Medium-high — 90-minute Express format to scale to thousands of managers | Very high — it is where they started: IBM trained 10,000+ executives on them from 1991; clients such as Renault, Total, Nordea, Amgen and Hager, and events of 500+ participants |

| Pricing tier | $$ — institutional licence, quoted by programme and number of participants | Not published — quoted by simulation, number of participants and whether MEGA facilitates. Free demo access |
| Customization | High — co-development with the professor; custom-built simulations | Medium-high — facilitation and debrief tailored to your strategy while the engine stays fixed; bespoke simulations built for corporate clients (a US pharma company in 2023) |
| Integrations (LTI, SSO) | LTI + SSO (SAML 2.0); integrates with Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard | No LTI, SSO or LMS integration published; the four HBP titles go through Harvard Business Publishing's own procurement and LMS workflow |

When MEGA Learning is the better choice
MEGA Learning has done one thing since 1989: run team-based business simulations with an expert in the room. If that is what you are buying, they are hard to beat. Choose them when:
- You want the session delivered, not just licensed: a facilitator from their network — strategy, finance, HR and marketing specialists on five continents — introduces the game, runs the rounds and leads the debrief, or trains your own trainers to. For a leadership offsite or a 500-person corporate event, that expert in the room is the product; Eureka ships a facilitator pack for your own people, not a network of facilitators to staff the session.
- Your school already buys from Harvard Business Publishing: four of their titles (The Customer Value Challenge, The Fundamentals of Finance, Strategy Execution and The Business Odyssey) sit in the HBP Education catalogue, so adoption runs through the same procurement, billing and LMS workflow you already use for HBS cases, with no new vendor to onboard.
- You teach in English or French and want 37 years of refinement behind the model: a first simulation launched at IMD in 1990, IBM training 10,000+ executives on it from 1991, a finance simulation co-developed with Total for non-finance managers, and dedicated healthcare-strategy and human-capital titles.
When Eureka is the better choice
Eureka wins when your own faculty run the simulation, in the language of the classroom, across more of the curriculum.
- The professor runs it: Eureka is built for your instructors to run from the console, with a facilitator pack and kick-off support, not for an outside facilitator booked two to four weeks ahead. A 90-minute Express session fits inside a single class; MEGA's shortest title needs three to six hours of play, and half of their catalogue needs at least twelve participants.
- You teach in Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, Italian or Basque — or in several languages at once. MEGA runs every title in English and French and a few in Chinese, German or Danish; Eureka's platform is in 16 languages and Express in 9, with a Spain and LATAM base (the IESE family: IPADE, IAE, INALDE, PAD).
- You want a catalogue and a contract you can plan around: 36 core simulations plus Express against eight titles, LTI and SAML SSO into Moodle, Canvas or Blackboard (MEGA publishes no LMS integration outside the HBP route), and an institutional licence whose price does not depend on who facilitates.
Sometimes you use both
They coexist well, because they solve different halves of the problem. A school that already adopts The Customer Value Challenge through Harvard Business Publishing for an English-language MBA core, or a company that brings MEGA in to facilitate a leadership offsite, can keep doing exactly that. Eureka then covers the courses the faculty run themselves: the Spanish- and Portuguese-language programmes, the 90-minute session inside a regular class, and subjects outside their six categories, such as operations and supply chain.
Frequently asked questions
Do MEGA Learning simulations need a facilitator?
That is their model. Their own FAQ says every session is led by an experienced facilitator who introduces the simulation, guides the decision rounds and leads the debriefs, and they recommend booking facilitated sessions two to four weeks ahead. A professor who wants to run it alone takes a train-the-trainer course first. The expert debrief is what they sell, and it is good. Eureka is built for your own instructors to run from the console, with a facilitator pack and kick-off support rather than a facilitator in the room.
In which languages are MEGA Learning simulations available?
All eight titles in English and French. The Business Odyssey and Strategy Execution also run in Chinese and German, and The Competitive Advantage in Chinese and Danish; no Spanish or Portuguese version is listed. Facilitation can be delivered in other languages depending on the facilitator. Eureka's platform is in 16 languages and the Express catalogue in 9.
A facilitated workshop, or a course your faculty run?
Tell us who will be in the room. If you want an outside expert to deliver and debrief the session in English or French, MEGA Learning is a seriously good answer; if your own instructors will run it, in the language of the classroom, let us show you ours.
